The very first time I saw snow falls I got really excited and I was jumping around like a jakun in public. Not literally, but I was really happy and I couldn't stop saying "Oh, my god!" to my friends. In fact, they were also very much amused by the white snow flakes and they couldn't stop taking pictures of themselves at the same place and same spot.

Happy time together. At Van Dusen Garden for Festival of Lights event.

I have to say watching snow falls is indeed the prettiest thing to see. Two thumbs up =)! It is so white and pure and so soft (I meant those fresh snow)! And everytimg I go out, I will automatically take a handful of snow, compress it into a ball and start throwing at my friends. I know I am mischievous, but I can't help it =P. Trust me, it is really fun to throw snow on others!

The very first day it snowed in Vancouver was on Saturday night. Bunch of us just finished our 5th final paper, which is Math paper, on that day. So, as a reward for ourselves and to release some stress, we decided to go out and take some fresh air. We went to Van Dusen Garden right after dinner at the Malaysian restaurant located near Alma street.

Smile for the camera! I was actually freezing my arse. Freaking cold!

Van Dusen Garden (at Oak Street) was indeed not as huge as Butchard Garden (near Victoria, Vancouver island) but the light decoration was really awesome and amazing! So colourful and crowded with people. And I really love the Christmas atmosphere here! Definately better here than Malaysia. Hehe.

When it started to snow. Me love snow! =)

The snow really made our day! It made our trip worth than anything!

The next morning I woke up, the whole campus was covered with white snow since it didn't stop snowing the night before that. I was so excited I couldn't fall back to sleep even though I was really tired. Without caring much, I woke my roomie up and distracted her from sleeping. And then, we just sit in front of the window and stared at the white snow for the rest of the hour.

And well, the rest of my holidays I am spending it in Victoria!!

Goodbye 1st semester, Hello holidays!!

Greetings everyone!

I finally revived my blog, once more. For almost 3 months, I have completely abandoned it. Well, I was really busy adjusting myself with the university life though. Busy with assignments, midterms, finals, and having fun?!?!?

Anyway, here is a little update about what's going on here. Facts time!!

1) I am here in Vancouver, BC for almost 4 months. Gosh, time flies eh?

On the way back to UBC. We were overly excited about the snow!

2) I just finished my finals! Which means the end of 1st semester! And the beginning of winter holidays! Wooohooo, Christmas is just around the corner!! I am sooo excited!!

3) I miss Malaysia! Especially nasi lemak!!! And all other Malaysian food! *sobss* But, I guess I have gained some weight!!

4) It snowed on last Saturday! Gosh, it was really pweeetty!! And amazingly beautiful!! Watching snow falls is indeed the best moment of all, in spite of the cold. Me lurve it =) ! *wink*

5) Had the 1st snow ball fight on Sunday. And I built my 1st snowman yesterday! =) Although it wasn't perfect, I am proud of myself! In fact, snowman is NOT EASY to build at all =.=. My hand was half frozen as I rolled the snow ball.

6) I am heading to Victoria on Thursday! Spending the 1st white Christmas with my bestie's aunt! =).

Sadly to say that my departure date has changed to a day earlier.

Yes, I was expected to leave my homeland on the 25th August 2008. But, due to some flight problem (Well, apparently, most of the Canada flights are fully booked. I wonder whose fault?), I have to leave a day earlier now. What on earth! God dammit. I have plans on Sunday supposingly, but I guess I have to abandon it already. Great.

A day of spending precious time with mom for bonding session, GONE. Damn it.

But well, I guess I can't do anything already, just appreciate the little time I have now. So, to all my UBC friends/coursemates/classmates/friends, appreciate the time left for you to spend with your friends and family!

As for Ontario students, you guys are damn lucky to have extra 5-6 days in Malaysia. But anyway, good luck to all of you. Best of luck to everyone who is going abroad to further studies and so on.

Congratulations to all ICPU students who graduated on the 12th June 2008.

TJ, Jason, Me, Mollie & Siew Fong. Officially graduated!

You guys did a good job in fulfilling your responsibility as a student! (Including me, of course. Hehe)

Candle-Lighting ceremony. Light symbolizes hope and guidance for us in the future.

Graduation, in my opinion, is the happiest and yet the saddest day in our life. It is the end of one chapter (ICPU) and also the beginning of another chapter (University) in our life.

It is also a time to say goodbye to all our lovely lecturers who had helped us, guided us, taught us, and supported us throughout the year.

A bunch of crazy yet fun people who could create havoc if they want to. Best course mates ever.

We were happy as we successfully graduated from this. Yet, at the same time, we felt sad as we are all going to different direction that will set us apart.

This is really too much! I only have two hands and yet the amount of work I need to complete in such a short period of time is so freaking HUGE till I almost go into insanity.

Marker from "HELL" ...

As you all know, markers, also known as examiners, could be real bias or totally a devil from hell.

Recently, candidates from previous IELTS examination had collected their results and most of them got a shock of their life. ESPECIALLY those who are pro English user.

Imagine getting a low band for your writing module when actually you deserved much higher score. How would you react? Pissed? Amazed? Disbelieved? Speechless?

Well I am not sure. Since I was lucky enough to have a good / lenient examiner to mark my paper, I managed to escape such traumatic dramas. Anyway, pity those 2nd batch candidates.

Today, miss was telling us about the issue. She finds it strange that candidates who were marked under this examiner XXX didn't score very well for their writing module. Only this particular marker is giving trouble to everyone and failing them.

According to Miss Ungku, this marker XXX gave only a maximum score of 6.0. No more but got less. How can this happen? What the heck is wrong with him/her? Even a normal student can score higher than that. Ridiculous.

Feeling strange and a little pissed, miss labeled this marker XXX as "MARKER FROM HELL" with the number 999666. (As you all know 666 symbolizes the devil's number)

Anyway, good luck to all those who are resiting their IELTS examination. Hopefully this time you won't meet such "MARKER FROM HELL" anymore. All the best!

As for those who passed the minimum requirement, congrats.

Well, last Sunday, while I was trying to finish up my freaking essay, my phone rang.

*SY: Hey, I am bored here. Wanna catch a movie?
*PM: (Got really excited) Nah. I can't. Have to finish up my essay. So how?
*SY: Okay, nvm then.
*PM: Hey hey, why not we go for dinner instead?
*SY: Okay,sure. I will call up PY.
*PM: Okay, I will drive then. 7pm.

So, at 7pm sharp, I went to their house to pick them up. After stoning in the car for few minutes (in front of her house), we decided to go Giant. Yesh, Giant. One of our favourite hang out place. NOT.

PY was right about KFC being flooded with people. Sigh. That means we had to queue up for our food =(. Nevermind that.

We had funny conversations. From weird gossips to hilarious jokes. Then we came across this topic:-

*SY: Wah, so fast everyone is going off.
*PM: Yesh. (Bitting my chicken)
*PY: Yealoh. Later all come back with a MAT SALLEH boyfriend.
*SY: Lol. I will be going to US and Man will be going to Canada. I will bring an ABC back and she will bring her CBC back.
*PM: ???????

It took me quite awhile to analyze what she said. Then I realized she meant Canadian-born-chinese (CBC). Typical SY.

But, well, I did enjoy their company. At least they made my day more joyful and had great laughs =P!

It just hit me real hard.

I felt like as though I had gone through a 360 degree turn.

From very innocent to very corrupted. Very shy to fairly bold.

I used to be a very timid person. Seldom talk, seldom question.

And now, God knows what I am now.

Noisy. Rebellious. Arrogant. Sarcastic. Vulgar.

And the list goes on.

Sometimes, I seriously wonder. What have change me?

Why am I acting like this?

Being so infantile and silly?

Being so profane and aggressive?

I know not.

I guess, secluding myself from others sometimes, would be a good idea.

Where I can have a quiet time for myself.

A time where I can think deeply and logically.

And that is when I could learn from my mistakes.

Learn to accept the fact.

Ice Skating...

I used to love to skate.

When I was young, I always love to stand at the side of the ice skating rink, and looked at those professional skaters skate. At the same time, I would imagine, myself being one of them. Skating freely and gracefully on the ice.

But, the fact is, I am not them. And never will be. Guess that I can only continue to daydream about it. Sad case =[...

Aren't they cute??

Anyway, I went to ice skate with Zeze and Heng ( the two love birds ) this afternoon. Nothing special. Except that I did fall once. YESH! I fell!!!

After all, I think I have lost the passion for ice skating. No longer longing for it. But, I still LOVE to stand at the side of the rink and watch people skate. And laugh at them when they fall ( I know I am evil..but I can't help it =] )...

I am certainly not blaming you for what you have done. I am absolutely not angry at all for those nasty words you have said to me. I have always treated you like a person who is important to me. A person who I trust all the time. A person I can count on when I'm down.

But what I get in return was a total disappointment. You totally let me down completely. Over and over again, you disappoint me. But, I always forgive you.

Trebuchet Launching day...=)

we had fun finding materials for out trebuchet.....

had fun sawing it, nailing it, drilling it, spray painting it.....

and we definately had fun launching it!!!!!=)

we showed them that we girls rock!!9.4m..not bad huh???

So...

physics students were all gathered at the parking area, waiting for their turn to launch...some were adjusting their trebuchet while some were HIDING somewhere...

One thing for sure, everyone was eager to launch their trebuchet...eager to know who's projectile can go the farthest..EAGER to know whether they BREAK the record or not...typical..=P

ready, set...LAUNCH!!!

We were indeed the 1st group to launch our trebuchet (for period 6 class of course =P), even though we were NOT the 1st group to reach that place =P (that's for me to know and for you to find out who is the 1st group i am talking about =p)..

First trial was a failure..only 6.6m...we were of course worrying as we expected to be farther..but as we tried for second time...it went to 9.4m!!!even Miss Khoo was shocked...!!!

WELL....

i didnt even notice..that i have abandoned my blog for 4 freaking months!!!haha...owh well..being the usual me, i am just too lazy to update my blog..

BUT.....

i have no freaking idea why all of the sudden i FEEL like blogging!!!even though i AM supposed to be studying now...miracle isn't it??

SO.....

finals approaching..yet i still have tonnes of work to do...cpt research paper, physics trebuchet project, chemistry business plan presentation (YES, BUSINESS PLAN PRESENTATION FOR CHEM!!!though i have no idea why do we have to do this for science courses)..and etc...i know i am complaining too much..but who can take this man!!no study break for ICPU!!!i am getting tired though, very very tired indeed..thank god it is ending soon...i mean for this semester, at least???

i shall stop procrastinating now and start doing what i am supposed to do now..or else i am so gonna regret BIG TIME...ain't wanna repeat the mistakes i had done last year =)...

OMG. I am dying of boredom!! I have no freaking idea what to do for this 3 weeks. Rot at home? Stone at home? Practically, that is what im doing right now and everyday. I wanted to do something. Learn something. Something beneficial to me. But i have no idea what to learn in this 3 weeks time. I have considered taking dancing class. Hip hop dance. =). Since i kinda love to dance. But unfortunately, my mom doesnt quite agree with the idea. All sort of reasons she gave. 1st, no time ( which is quite true also after i started my college ). 2nd, waste of money ( which is soooo not true ). And 3rd, waste of time. Swted. I AM wasting my time now wat. Haiz. Sad case for me =(.

So, what else can I do?? I am still wondering. >.<

Sorry guys, for not updating my blog for so freaking long. As you know, i was damn freaking buzy with my stuff. One of them is my JPA scholarship. I have to go thru some process in order to satisfy them. Yeayea. Medical check-up is vital, as usual. To make sure im healthy enough to accept the scholarship. So, this whole week I have been going to the general hospital in KL to get my medical check-up done. Can you actually believe it, that i have to go to that freaking hospital for 3 times in a week? 1st day - blood test, urine test and so on. 2nd day - Mantoux test ( any idea what the hell is that??i do. ) 3rd day ( which is on friday ) - Mantoux test report. See. No wonder im so freaking busy. Oh, not to forget too. My medical check-up report will be out on the next next thursday. Again another trip....to GENERAL HOSPITAL. This, will make it the 4th visit to the hospital. Saddening. Like as if i have nothing else better to do.

Apart from being busy visiting the hospital, i have to get all my JPA forms...like the 3 freaking contracts and some personal details forms...done before my college starts. I mean before my registration day which is on the 7th of july ( Oooo, some1's birthday huh?? ). Should I be happy or sad?? Well, at least im starting my college FINALLY, after so long. The good thing is, i wont be rotting at home anymore. Wont be bored to death anymore. And the bad thing is, tons of assignments and course works are waiting ahead for ME =(. Shit. Means no more "lepaking" for me. And no more sloth-ing around for me. =(. The even WORST thing is i have to stay in the freaking hostel! DAMN. Oh well, nevermind. I still can enjoy my life. I mean I WILL STILL enjoy my life. College life aint that bad actually. LOL.

Besides being too busy to blog, im actually very very lazy to update my blog. Too lazy to sit down and type out what i want to type. Yesterday, Mei asked me why i havent update my blog yet. For so freaking long. She eventually said, "You dont want your blog already??". As usual, i answered her with the same old answer. On the way. Too lazy. No mood. Blablablabla. And i always said that i will update my blog soon. But end up, i didnt. Hehe.

So, i guess today i had THAT mood to update my blog at last? LOL. Sorry Mei. For not updating my blog for so long. =). The HK trip's story is on its way~ Hehe.

Lunch with the leaders...

At first when i received a message from this unknown number,citing that it was from the MCA president,I was thinking that it must be someone trying to prank me or something.But NO.It was not a prank.It was really from the MCA president.So,on the next day,i received another message again from the same number.This time the message says that i was invited to meet up with the MCA president and the leaders and have lunch with them on the 22nd of May at the MCA headquaters in KL!Of course i was HAPPY,to be invited to this!Who isn't?Anyway,the message also stated that i have to call the MCA office to give them a responce.And so,i picked up my cell phone and called them right away.

So,on the 22nd of May,i woke up at around 8.00am to get myself ready to go to the MCA headquaters.It's so freaking obvious that i didn't go to school on that day.LOL.PONTENG.Well,who cares?So,my mom and I took a taxi to go to KL as we don't know how to go to that place.It took us around 20 minutes to reach there.No traffic jam!LOL.That's because the taxi driver used the SMART tunnel instead of the usual way.Since we were early,we dropped by at the Secret Recipe and i had a blackpepper lamb chop pie (i think).Oh man,it was damn delicious!

After that,we went up to the 3rd floor where the auditorium is located.I saw,lots of,AHEM,competitors!Opps,i mean JPA scholars.We ain't competitors anymore.I mean,for now.LOL.Then,I walked over to the counter to register my name.And then i looked around.Everyone was talking to their friends.EXCEPT ME.Oh no,i think i have been too anti-social nowadays.Even in my form6 school,I didn't really mix around with the sentosarians.Are they too SHY to talk to me?Or am I being too ANTI-SOCIAL and ARROGANT?Hmm,i wonder.

Once im done,me and my mom then walked into the auditorium and took a seat.Waiting for everyone to come in.And of course,waiting for the arrival of the VIPs.While I was waiting,i felt so stressed up.I have no idea why.Maybe because im low in confidence and think that i does not deserve this scholarship.Ok nvm about this.So,a few minutes later,the amcee then announced the arrival of the MCA president and also the other leaders.We stood up,applauded and so onand on.

The event started with the opening speech from the MCA president,Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting.I love the way he talks and the way he give speech.He has a sense of humuor I can tell you.Everyone was laughing happily including himself.He then exaplained to us what is JPA scholarship and the history of it.He even told us about the percentage for chinese to get this scholarship is low.But thanks to the MCA,alot of chinese students get this scholarship.They do help us alot in this.So,Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting asked us to be proud of getting this scholarship and don't be afraid of it.He even told us not to give up this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity as it is really super hard for us to get this scholarship.He said that we should not complain about everything including the bond with the government.We should work for the government and serve for the country.He claimed that working with the government will benefit us in everything including experiences.

When Datuk Seri Dr. Fong Chan Onn was giving his speech,he advised all of us to practice the art of questioning.He said that we all should always ask question in order to get more information.He told us not to just sit around and listen to what other people said.By doing this,we won't be able to gain as much knowledge as we can.So,as an advice,we should ALL practice the ART of QUESTIONING.Question till you can't question.LOL.So,stop being shy and start questioning to gain more information and knowledge!Hehe.

At around 1pm,we all (JPA scholars) gathered together in a NICE and SUITALE place to take some pictures =).Too bad i have no camera at that time.Or else,this blog will be full of photos.Hehe.Thank god.Anyway,after the picture-taking-event,all of us went down to the second floor to take our lunch.The food was not bad.Way much better than my camp food.LOL.Well,i didn't stay there for long as i don't really know anyone there.But i met the fella who went into to same interview room with me the other day.We said hi,but we didn't really talk much.ANTI-SOCIAL huh?LOL.Who cares.So,right after me and my mom finish our meal,we leave the place and we went home straight.

So basically,that's all about it.Nothing really special.And I guess that i shall end here.Damn freaking tired and lazy now.See you soon!Take carezzzz!!~
